Doctor Who & Sherlock Meme
I took this from calapine on LJ.
1. Sherlock or Doctor Who
Doctor Who wins because its about an alien who travels around time and space, no amount of detective work can make that more impressive in my book.
2. Moriarty or the Master?
I’ve only ever seen John Simm as the Master really. I have seen Roger Delgado’s Master, but I only really liked the dynamic between Delgado and Jon Pertwee because Pertwee is my favorite Classic!Doctor. If I had to choose though, I’d say Moriarty, specifically Andrew Scott’s Moriarty because he is the epitome of an evil genius and I once saw someone on the street that resembled him and almost had a heart attack. I think that means he did his job.
3. Benedict or Martin?
Benedict. I like his funny name and his naturally auburn locks. (Yes, we are just going by looks here!) He’s also quite funny from what I’ve seen in interviews. And he’s BFFs with David Tennant.
4. Favorite Doctor Who Companion
Donna Noble. She was the “ordinary person” that could save the world. It makes you believe that anyone, no matter how ordinary, can do anything.
5. Favorite Doctor
As stated above, Three (Jon Pertwee) is my favorite Classic!Doctor. Ten (David Tennant) is my favorite NuWho Doctor.
6. Favorite Sherlock Character
John Watson. He’s Sherlock’s answer to Doctor Who’s companion. He helps us understand (as well as he can, anyway) Sherlock’s mind and get insight into what makes him tick.
7. Favorite Sherlock Episode
I loved “A Study in Pink” from series 1 and “A Scandal in Belgravia” from series 2. Both are extremely well written. I loved the dynamic between Irene Adler and Sherlock.
8. Favorite Doctor Who Story
I have a few. “The Girl in the Fireplace,” “Vincent and the Doctor,” “The Doctor’s Wife,” and “The Girl Who Waited.” They all pull at the heartstrings and make you want to cry.
9. Favorite Doctor Who Monster
The Cybermen. I think they are quite scary in the sense that at one point, they were human.
10. Least Favorite Sherlock Character
At some points, Mycroft. Sometimes he just really bugs me. I don’t know why.
11. Least Favorite Doctor Who Character
Adric. I’ve only seen a few stories that he was in, so maybe I should give him a chance, but from what I’ve seen, he annoys me.
12. The Doctor or Sherlock?
The Doctor. He’d actually want me as a companion. I can’t see Sherlock being okay with me following him around
13. Rose Tyler or Amy Pond?
Amy Pond. I’m in the minority here, but I didn’t enjoy the whole Ten-Rose “love story.”
14. Least Favorite Companion
See number 11.
15. Thoughts on Mycroft/Lestrade
It would be an interesting pairing. They already talk to each other about Sherlock all the time, maybe something more is actually going on there?
16. What do you think of Molly Hooper
Not much initially. I did feel bad for her in that one episode (I forget which one) where she was wearing lipstick to impress Sherlock and he was a bit rude to her. After watching “The Reichenbach Falls,” and reading a few theories on how Sherlock faked his death, I really like her as a character. I do feel bad for her though, she’s in love with someone who can probably never love her back.
17. Do you believe in Sherlock Holmes?
No.
18. 10th Doctor or 11th?
Tenth. I love me some Ten-nant.
19. 9th Doctor or 10th
Ten. This is a bit unfair to Nine, as I am a big David Tennant fan.
20. 11th Doctor or 9th
Eleventh. I wanna be Amy Pond so I could meet him as a little girl and travel with him.
21. Thoughts on Johnlock
Sorry to be mean, but that’s a stupid name for a pairing…..
22. Sherlock or Doctor Who cast
Doctor Who cast, although there is a tiny bit of overlap there.
23. Favorite Sherlock actor
Even though I kind of have a love/hate relationship with Mycroft, it’d have to be Mark Gatiss. It surprised me how much I liked his acting in Sherlock (I don’t know why!)
24. Favorite Doctor Who actor
David Tennant. I’ve probably seen/listened to SOOOO many things that he’s been in as a result of falling in love with his portrayal of the Doctor. (Yes, that’s right, I’ve seen St. Trinian’s 2) He’s such a versatile actor, he could literally be in anything, play anyone and still be convincing. Oh and he’s not hard on the eyes either. -
I’m currently planning on doing Harry Potter vs Doctor Who, Sherlock vs Doctor Who and Merlin vs Doctor Who (part 2) due to how well liked my Merlin vs Doctor Who post was!

One day we were in the make-up trailer and someone was brushing out Benedict’s stunt double’s wig - and we decided to put Martin in it. We put Sherlock’s coat on him and stood him on top of one of the make-up chairs so he looked tall and took the photo from low down. And when Benedict came in we got the make-up assistant to ask him to autograph the photograph. She handed it over - and this is how Benedict’s mind works - and he went “I don’t remember wearing my coat with that colour scarf
